Sequim at Last . http://www.findyourspot.com/ is good !

I revisited my thoughts on Port Angeles and its people . I think they seem the kind of folks you would like on your side in a bar fight . A bit rough and ready , diamonds in the rough . I definitely would not want to get on the wrong side of them . They have a good SCUBA business which helps divers find buddies through a card system instead of a more organised club . The houses near the down town area are relatively cheap and possibly a good investment as Webster park limits expansion to the north . I looked at a 1500 sq foot plus full basement and garage -A fixer upper but sound for a mere $165,000 . This would due to its central location rent well at about $ 800, a return of about 5% - a good one but at the moment not for me . I just don't want to tie up funds till my family is more settled .
urThen there was Sequim . The businesses looked a bit more recently painted and the people a bit smarter . A smaller but very walkable downtown and other retail/services areas just a short distance from a variety of desirable housing . Also some $ 1,000,000 houses overlooking the town and the strait of Juan De Fuca from Bell Hill to the south .It is really true that there is less rain and more sunshine here than both Seattle and Port Angeles . Lots of big stores are moving in and younger people are following suit .
It has a lot going for it Safe friendly small town feel . Cheaper housing than the easily visit able nearby Port Townsend , Good accessibility to the mountain and the sea . 75 minutes by road and ferry to beautiful downtown Victoria BC and less than two hours ( if you are lucky ) from Seattle .
I am having the problem that every good town I see always seems better than the last so like Pop Idol contestants the latter acts get extra " brownie points" .
I am going to wait till all the information I have gleaned has settled down in about a months time before making any firm decisions .

Then I went to Port Ludlow , Great houses but little local amenities .

" that's what yoos think Sassenach " , Said a member of " Yanks-in-kilts" who I accused of not being really Scottish !He and his armed band were staggereing away from a civil war re-enactment event that I stumbled across at Port Gamble ( Pics here )

Kingston had no heart except the too busy ferry terminal for Edmonds . Indianola had some absolutely stunning waterfront properties but again no local amenities .( pics here after general ones from the day) (Makes Sandbanks seem cheap at a fifth the price !

Indianola was cute and surprisingly rough around the edges with little amenities .

I revisited Poulsbo the jewel in the crown which has a great heart but does seem too broken up by big roads . The people here are mainly from Scandinavian stock and are a bit harder to get to know than in some places. Much better access to Seattle than the other towns I saw today and still not too expensive .

The ferry from Kingston to Edmonds is unbookable and very busy with long delays . I am stuck in one now having not got on two earlier ones due to the queues ( lines ) and its 8 pm .

The S.T.EN. Gun

“ We will never surrender !” France fell to the German Blitzkrieg in May 1940 . The retreating British Army ended up being rescued from the beaches of Dunkirk by a flotilla of little ships leaving behind much of their equipment . A German invasion was expected ! Winston Churchill the British prime minister made his famous “ we will fight them on the beaches – we will never surrender ! “ speech and the Battle of Britain was on ! The UK desperately needed submachineguns . The Government ordered well made expensive Thompsons from the still neutral United States but there was never enough available . In order to rapidly equip a sufficient fighting force to counter the threat of invasion , the Royal Small Arms Factory , Enfield ( North London ) was commissioned to produce an alternative quickly and in large numbers . Whats in a name S.T.En. There Major R. V. Shepherd OBE and Mr. Harold John Turpin came up with the Design which became

Six Month Service - Vav Simon Chiropractor !

Every so often I visit a chiropractor to keep my bones - especially my back - on the straight and narrow . This stems back quite a few years ago when I was having problems with it . I was fine working but if i stayed in the same position for more than a few minutes my back started to hurt . I could not sit down , I could not stand up , I could not ignore the pain ! I asked around and went to my Doctor . A few people told me Vav Simon got lame horses to gallop , The doctor said it was quack useless and unnecessary treatment . I rejected his advice and booked an appointment . She asked questions and examined me . told me my pelvis was tipped to one side and trapping nerves ! This was not a supprise but sounded bad ! She told me she could fix it in two or three visits - this did suprise me and sounded good ! She tapped me about and stretched things very gently , told me to get dressed and walk about . Really weird - I walked like a drunk swaying to one side ! Then I understood - my legs w

Bonny and Clyde and the Browning Automatic Rifle

Bonnie and Clyde and the BAR ! Clyde Barrow, holding a Browning automatic rifle. BAR's could fire a twenty-shot magazine loaded with armor-piercing ammunition in under three seconds. During the depression of the 1930's in the USA criminals were looked at in a different way by many of the people who had been victimized and impoverished by the rich bankers and the emerging powerful corporations. Many people saw them as people driven to the edge that were only taking back what was stolen from them and striking back at a society and Government that let the Depression cause so much harm to so many . Two of the most famous criminals of that time were Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow . They were known to be quite skilled with their weapons, and unlike most criminals, they practiced with them and maintained them . Sadly they are considered to be responsible for the deaths of at least Nine law enforcement officers and five civilians during
